october stills.

It's October now. The mornings glitter with icy frost, and at night the stars are tiny pinpricks of light in the vast dark atmosphere. Burnished in gold and scarlet, the maples and oaks have shown off their autumn splendour, now fading to bare branches and a carpet of brown underfoot. For the last few weeks, it's been so chilly that a chunky knit sweater is a must, and a steaming mug of spiced chai sweetened with honey is a welcome way to warm up. This is October, the last show of pomp and glory before the winter, when every living thing retreats into hibernation and a blanket of snow.
Here is a glimpse into my month so far.
